Bad Company

I Daipayan Banerjee seeing today’s condition of children, teenagers and youngsters who always have a tendency to indulge in ‘Bad Company’ I would surely like to tell you this moralistic story.

Bad Company

A rich merchant had an only son. He loved him very much. Over-indulgence spoilt him. He fell into bad company. He took to drinking and gambling. There were complaints against him from all quarters. The merchant felt sad and upset. He advised him much but he turned deaf ear to all he said.

One day he hit upon a plan. He bought a few apples from the bazaar. He gave some of them to his son and placed a rotten apple among them.

After a few days, the boy was asked to bring the apples. The boy brought them and told his father that they were all rotten. The rotten apple had spoiled all the good apples.

The father said, “Listen my son! One rotten apple spoiled all the good ones. But you have many evil companions. Just imagine what your fate will be.”

The father’s words went home. They made a deep impression on the Boy’s mind. He gave up bad company. All the members of the family led a happy life.

Thus the moral is ‘Better alone than in evil company’.
